This is Akanksha Swarnim from IIT Kharagpur. I had my LASIK on 31st Dec 2011. 
I am extremely thankful and at the same time happy  to tell my experience of have my LASIK done by Dr. Shroff. The whole process or I call it  journey is incredible. Dr. Shroff in such a nice doctor and great human being with unmatched sense  of compassion. Through out the process he was extremely friendly and tried his best to increase our confidence.

I am so thankful to all his efforts that I didn't feel any discomfort while the process. He was talking to me all the time.

In 2011 I did the best thing I've done in years!

I fully researched Lasik surgery, and I discovered Shroff. I flew to gorgeous Mumbai, and had the procedure.

I have never looked back.

I was increasingly in need of glasses to read, which was a real pain for me, I am a radio announcer and I need to wear headphones, read information on screen, and talk to people at the same time. I was finding it a disaster to have to fish my glasses out of my bag every time I needed to read something on my phone, or read the ingredients on a packet of food, or instructions...you just can't imagine, unless you wear glasses, how invasive they become. People say, "Read this! Oh you can't. Where are your glasses?" I was always asking people to read things to me. If I left my glasses at home, I'd have to go and buy a cheap temporary pair for the day from a Chemist (they always gave me headaches). It was especially frustrating for me because I LOVE to read, and reading in bed is one of my guilty pleasures, but I had come to rely on listening to spoken word books because it was so uncomfortable to read whilst wearing glasses in bed.

Well, in 20 minutes all that was behind me! I honestly don't even identify as a person who EVER wore glasses now. I saw a photo of myself with glasses on the other day and had to do a double take. Oh yeah! I used to wear those horrible things!

I needed glasses to use the computer, read anything, sew, anything close really. Which is not the typical reason to get Lasik.

The procedure is over in a few minutes for each eye. I felt nothing. The caring staff at the clinic took care of everything and I felt like I could have been in a clinic in New York.

Within hours of the procedure I could read the tiniest font ever imagined on the rice paper inside the box of eye drops, without glasses. It’s a feeling you can not imagine until you experience it yourself.

Shroff uses world class technology. Just do a bit of research and you'll discover that this is not even available in many countries yet. In my home country, where this technology is rare, it costs up to ten times the amount to have this procedure. It costs about as much as the glasses I would probably be prescribed in 2 years.
