Ans. Dark glasses are not meant only for discomfort with light. It is given as a protective eye wear for first 6 hours so that you do not rub your eyes.
After this, you will need to use regular sunglasses in the open areas for a week to prevent dust and any foreign bodies from going into the eye and causing you to rub them. Otherwise it is not required.
Washing eyes is not a good habit and not advised by the doctors, but you may wash your face with eyes closed the next day after LASIK using your usual face wash or soap.
